Oduraa Quartey
Memorial Service

Tribute by Rev. Prof. Dan Inkoom, on behalf of International Central Gospel Church ICGC), Eagles Temple, Kumasi

“Happy Fathers’ Day, Prof. Inkoom, God bless you abundantly” and a red heart emoji (still beating on our WhatsApp page) was the last message I received from you on Sunday 18th June 2023 at 6:47 pm, and which, sadly, was going to be the last. It has been truly painful to live with the news of your passing!
Eagles Temple and New Breed KNUST have the tradition of holding joint Easter Sunday services for a number of years now, where there is always a mass choir, which introduced you to us. You were either conducting or ministering during these occasions, and you always stood out. I got to know you better when you were selected to participate in the first Cohort of the Central Leadership Programme which you successfully completed to become a Beacon of Excellence (BoE). When you were appointed a Teaching Assistant at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) after your undergraduate studies, I did not hesitate to invite you to join the join the Eagles Temple Choir (ETC).
You were remarkable in your service to Eagles Temple as a member of ETC, and we received with great joy the news of an opportunity to pursue further studies in the USA. We prayed with you on the last Sunday before you left Kumasi to prepare for the trip. You communicated actively when you got to the USA, keeping me abreast with the progress of your academic work until the last message on Father’s Day 2023.
You left us so young, but we are grateful to the All-Knowing God who gave us the privilege of sharing your beautiful life in His service. We at Eagles Temple, Kumasi will forever remember you dearly. Oduraa, God be with you till we meet again!
